I just recently purchase this type pamphlet. Alphabet an Exhibition of hand-drawn lettering & experimental typography. Its currently a traveling exhibit and is at Domy right now. Stop by if your in the austin area.

This was free at Domy The California Solitary Times, created by Geoff McFetridge and Yong-ki Chan. The logo for this newspaper is so cute. i wanna stick it on your car or something. it has a sick pull out poster as well!

Also got this documentary on the punk scene in the 80's, The Decline of Western Civilization directed by Penelope Spheeris. I wanna see part II and III, III is the pink scene in the 90's. Its pretty funny watching people behave and think in the 80's. Interviews with The Bags, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Catholic Discipline, Fear, The Germs, X. My favorite parts are the black and white room interviews with the punk teens and why couldn't there be and a hippe/punk rocker?

The rhinoceros, with its huge, bare-skinned body and unicorn-like horn,

very much looks the part of a prehistoric beast. Rhinos weren't around

when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, but they are ancient creatures and

they're facing extinction in our lifetime.

If you go back millions of years ago, there used to be a huge number of

different types of rhino and the five that we're left with today are really

the last survivors of what appears to be almost a prehistoric looking animal.

Rhino horn is used, particularly in the Far East, for medicinal purposes.

Now in the West, it's always been assumed that the main purpose of rhino

horn is as an aphrodisiac, but in fact this is really a myth. Rhino horn in the

Far East is used for a whole host of medicinal reasons, but mainly as a fever

reducing agent. Rhino horn on the retail market, is worth more, ounce for

ounce, than gold itself. So the incentives to kill these animals are huge, and as

a result of that, we've brought this magnificent species almost to the brink of

extinction.

It took me soo long, i would get completely side tracked to the things I've saved over the years. found a ton of stickers. I now probably need something else to hold my sticker collection.

and the follow up on my bag of undeveloped film... its at 24 rolls as of today.

Mark Simonson is this newspaper’s production manager and typologist.

It appeared in the April 19, 1977, issue of Metropolis, the Weekly Newspaper of Minneapolis. Metropolis unfortunately folded about six months later.

"As its production manager, I didn’t get much chance to write, but this was one exception. After four months there, I had a reputation as someone who knew something about type. Metropolis had a page in the back called “Final Draft.” It was a page where anything might appear, from short stories to comics to photo essays. I can’t remember anymore if the editor, Scott Kaufer, asked me to write something or if I suggested it myself. Some of it makes me cringe to read again. Some of it is not quite correct. There are things in it that I wouldn’t necessarily agree with anymore, and I am surprised at how jaded I sound. i found out that--i have recently purchase a rare 1000 piece first production of the Rollei 35 Original made in Germany 1966, about five years later they started making them in Singapore.

The Rollei 35 is a 35mm miniature viewfinder camera built by Rollei. The original Rollei 35, when presented to the public at the photokina in 1966, was the smallest 135 film camera ever. Even at the present day the cameras of the Rollei 35 series remain the smallest ever built mechanically working 35 mm camera. During a time spanning 30 years of production, the total number of cameras of the Rollei 35 series made, is about 2 million pieces.

Im in love. i have a problem reeling back the film when the roll is done, as soon as i reel back three shots or so, the film tears out of the roll. anyone have the same experience?

Im looking forward to dropping off about two bones worth of film processing. Over twenty rolls still slowing adding up.

this week i realize sometime things are just not meant to be, no matter if it feels right, even your guts needs some sort of moral reasoning.

Thanx caitlin for lending me the camera!, it was very fun to not know what i was gonna really get!

Khrystean, Raymond and i had the afternoon at Manuel's this Mexican restaurant downtown, I wanted to go across the street to the empty lot that use to be Las Manitas. There's a faded vintage looking spearmint ad there, I've been staking that spot for a while now, but before there was a lot of debris, sadly i didn't get to take any photos of midst destruction. It would of been great angular mountains of cement.

next post will be new years, i had to go back and get my prints fixed cause the jerk there thinks cropping my photos 2 X 6's cool.
